We want to be YOUR community rescue
We have huge goals at SWARM, but most important to us, is that we are part of the community, not just a business in our community. There is a real need for facilities for the public to use. We do not want to be just a place to drop off an animal. Some of the goals we have in mind will bring new resources for pet owners lacking the resources needed to keep a pet they would otherwise have to give up.
The ideas we have in mind will serve SWARM, individual pet owners, and individual rescuers that want to help but have limited backing or space.
Here are some of the things we look forward to:
- Bark Park: This will be a facility open to anyone that wants to socialize a dog. There will be climbing toys for our athletes and a small wading fountain for our water dogs. There will be picnic tables and shade for the humans along with a grilling area for our all day players. Bark Park will have sections where rescuers and owners can safely expose unsocialized dogs to other dogs. Current vaccinations are REQUIRED.
- Bow Wow Bath House: This will be a fully functional bath house with facilities to bathe and groom pets. This will be a free facility. Water and electricity will be provided. Owners must bring their own supplies (towels, soap, leashes, etc).Current vaccinations are REQUIRED.
- Furry Friend Isolation Ward: A home away from home open to the public where new pets and rescues can spend a two week period isolated from other animals until they are deemed safe for vaccinations and integration with other pets. This will also serve as a quiet house for animals recovering from medical issues. This facility will be free to the public and will not be staffed. Owners must have a care plan prior to using this facility to ensure proper care of any animals.
- Gerald L. Nail Community Animal Rescue Center: Our ultimate goal. Mr. Nail was a great man with a big heart for animals. He is the reason this rescue is possible and this building will be his legacy. The community center will be the largest of all the buildings and will be a place where the community can make rescues of their own happen. Who has not seen that puppy or kitten on the side of the road and had no place to bring it because of their living circumstances? This building will be that place where the community will have the support and the facility to step-up and make a difference from pick-up to adoption. We want a center that brings all animal lovers together for a common purpose. We want the community to be a part of our family!
Please stay tuned for other plans SWARM has to make in Jones County and surrounding areas. And remember, we cannot serve the community without the help of the community!
